How to Use Institutional Data Exporters (IDE)
and Tableau Visualizations
Tableau visualizations and Institutional Data Exporters (IDE) are located at RADAR. IDE do not include graphics; they provide a downloadable data set and may include protected student information. Visualizations present data graphically; most You may save image or pdf files of the graphics by clicking the “download” icon and choosing the desired file type.
Everyone has access to Public data.
For data resources labeled Internal, you must log in with Single Sign On (SSO). Resources labeled Restricted require you to obtain permission from the data steward who will grant permission based on your job function and business need.
Some Tableau visualizations allow its data to be downloaded using the small, gray and white “download” icon located near the top right of the screen. Choose to the “crosstab” format and “csv”. A file with a generic name will be saved to your “Downloads” folder.
To download data from an IDE, navigate to the appropriate page and follow the step-by-step filtering and download instructions. Some IDEs contain student identifiable data. Upon download, a file with a generic name will be saved to your “Downloads” folder.
